Our Favorite Fashion Moments from Milan Design Week

This year’s Milan Design Week once again saw luxury fashion brands showcasing their craftsmanship in creative ways. If the stylish crowd at the ELLE DECOR 35th Anniversary Party piqued your interest in the intersection of design and fashion—or even inspired a shopping spree in Milan—you’re in luck. From a stunning espresso machine that will elevate your kitchen to luxurious sateen bedding that will upgrade your nap time, here are some of our favorite fashion-forward launches.

1. Lanvin’s Sculptural Seating

Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia of Rooms Studio in Tbilisi, Georgia, teamed up with Lanvin for an installation featuring their sculptural seating. These striking pieces were displayed throughout Lanvin’s flagship store, alongside shoes and bags. Complementing the seating was a metal and translucent blue glass lamp, created in collaboration with Georgian photographer Ketuta Alexi-Meskhishvili, symbolizing creative partnerships and paying homage to Jeanne Lanvin’s legacy.

2. Gucci’s Design Icons Showcase

Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, presented a special exhibition titled Gucci Design Ancora. Co-curated with Michela Pelizzari, founder of creative agency the show highlighted five icons of Italian design. Featured pieces included Mario Bellini’s Le Mura sofa and Nicolò Castellini Baldissera’s Clessidra rug, a part of the Portaluppi Pattern Project. These Italian masterpieces were on display at Gucci’s flagship store on Via Monte Napoleone.

3. Rimowa’s Espresso Machine

Luxury luggage brand Rimowa partnered with La Marzocco to create a limited-edition Liena mini espresso machine, featuring Rimowa’s signature grooved aluminum details. Launched at the pop-up Caffè Rimowa during Salone del Mobile, the machine showcased a fusion of German and Italian craftsmanship and served Rimowa’s own espresso blend.

4. Hermès’s Heritage-Inspired Home Accessories

Hermès showcased its new collections at Milan Design Week alongside some of its heritage pieces, reaffirming that Hermès objets never go out of style. Highlights included leather marquetry catchalls and blankets inspired by silk jockey jerseys, as well as woven leather baskets and braided leather bases on table lamps. Each item celebrated the brand’s craftsmanship while envisioning a future built on its storied past.

5. Saint Laurent’s Gio Ponti Plates

Saint Laurent made its Milan Design Week debut with a collaboration featuring plates based on designs by renowned Italian architect Gio Ponti. Originally created in 1957 for the Planchart Villa in Venezuela, the plates were reproduced by Ginori 1735 with blue, yellow, and gold details. This exclusive collection was presented at the Chiostri di San Simpliciano in an exhibition curated by Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello.

6. Thom Browne’s Luxurious Sheets

Known for his bold designs, Thom Browne made his Salone del Mobile debut in collaboration with Frette. The collection includes bath linens, robes, accessories, and bedding made from white cotton sateen, accented with custom labels and Browne’s signature four-striped embroidery.

7. Ralph Lauren’s Springtime Facade

Ralph Lauren celebrated spring and Milan Design Week with a bold display at his Milan headquarters, a historic palazzo. The designer unveiled his Modern Driver home collection, inspired by his vintage cars, while the facade of his Via Spiga flagship store bloomed with massive white flowers and blue-and-white ticking stripes. The Bar at Ralph Lauren extended into the store’s courtyard garden, creating a dreamy atmosphere with floral prints under a vine-covered pergola.

8. We Are Ona’s Pop-Up Eatery

The gastronomic collective We Are Ona, led by Noma alum Luca Pronzato, hosted a pop-up dining experience at the future site of Carla Sozzani’s foundation. Fashion photographer Mark Borthwick collaborated with French set designer Laura Floor on the immersive space. Guests enjoyed meals prepared by Scottish chef Megan Moore, served on Alessi and Christofle tableware with menus hand-drawn by Borthwick. .

9. La DoubleJ’s Sunny Homewares

Designer J.J. Martin expanded her colorful prints into homeware with the La DoubleJ Solar collection. Drawing inspiration from a trip to Spain, the collection features plates, vases, and cups adorned with mosaic-like sunbursts and 18-karat gold-plated rims. The collection also includes vibrant Murano pitchers, placemats, napkins, and tablecloths in fiery hues.

10. Aquazzura Casa

Known for its footwear, Aquazzura Casa debuted two homeware collections: Riviera and Alegria. The Riviera collection from Tuscany featured formal place settings with embroidered linens, porcelain plates, and Murano glasses, while the Alegria collection from Puglia embraced playful seaside vibes with ombré-dyed tablecloths, napkins, and ceramic plates. .
